The Panthers' OC choice
By Tim Kavanagh
UPDATE: ESPN NFC South blogger Pat Yasinskas believes that if the Panthers are choosing between the three reported candidates -- Jackson, Shurmur and Shula -- the choice is clear (see below).

As the Carolina Panthers begin life without Rob Chudzinski -- their former OC who is now the HC of the Cleveland Browns -- they have diligently set out in search of the man who will help bring franchise QB Cam Newton to the next level. A lot of names have been tossed out there as possibilities, but no one has earned the job just yet. So who's in the mix?
According to Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk, the decision is down to Bengals assistant Hue Jackson, former Browns HC Pat Shurmur and incumbent Mike Shula, who has served as the QB coach. There are arguments to be made in favor and against each man, and we may have a decision soon.

Gotta go with Shula"Nothing against Jackson or Shurmur, but I think Shula is the logical choice. He's been the team's quarterbacks coach the last two seasons. He knows the system installed by Rob Chudzinski and he has a close relationship with quarterback Cam Newton."
