The Giants' next deal

By Tim Kavanagh

Well, one big domino has fallen for the New York Giants this offseason. According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the club has agreed to a contract extension with LT Will Beatty for five years, $38.75 million. Beatty was considered the top priority for a new deal, and the Giants get it done with several days to spare before the franchise tag deadline (and the start of free agency on March 12). So who's next?

Some might point to the WR position. Victor Cruz is a restricted free agent, and the buzz is that he'll get a first-round tender, possibly replaced with a long-term deal sometime later. Meanwhile, Hakeem Nicks is entering the final year of his current contract, and some believe that the Giants want to get a new pact done with him to avoid a distraction this upcoming campaign.

There are some other UFAs that the Giants could look to lock up soon, too, including LG Kevin Boothe, TE Martellus Bennett and LB Chase Blackburn. The ball is rolling in New York, and we could have some more movement in the near future.
