Browns to play things tight?

By AJ Mass

When asked if his familiarity with the tight end position might mean the Cleveland Browns would be actively looking to put perhaps a Patriots-like focus on the position in their 2013 offense, head coach Rob Chudzinski couldn't help but elaborate on his love for tight ends.

"The tight end position has evolved in the last 10 years or so, maybe even longer than that and it’s become a critical part of a lot of offenses," Chudzinski told reporters during an interview at the NFL Combine. Specifically, the coach said he was excited about young Jordan Cameron, and looks forward to seeing what he's got on the practice field.

While that doesn't necessarily mean we can expect Cameron to miraculously transform into Rob Gronkowski in the off-season, it does indicate that a lot more than 20 passes will be headed his way in 2013. With Benjamin Watson spending the next few months as a free agent, it already is starting to sound like the new staff wants to skew younger and give Cameron to get every opportunity to grab the brass ring of a full-time starting job.
