Bills QB battle looms

By AJ Mass

Doug Marrone, at least for now, seems to be content to have Ryan Fitzpatrick and Tarvaris Jackson compete for the starting quarterback job in 2013. However, one has to wonder if he's simply saying what he has to in order to keep the peace, just in case he doesn't get the quarterback he wants int he upcoming draft.

After re-signing Jackson to a one year deal, Marrone told the Buffalo News that the Bills will "have an open competition at the quarterback position, similar to what we will do at all positions on our team heading into our offseason work." However, that doesn't mean the pair currently under contract will be the only competitors for the job.

Odds are that Ryan Nassib, who Marrone coached at Syracuse, will be very high on the list of players coveted by the Bills during the draft, and he may well fly off the board to them if he's still around in Round 2.
