Broncos done with Moreno?
By Tom Carpenter
Dan Pompei of the National Football Post thinks that the Denver Broncos may cut ties with Knowshown Moreno this offseason.
"Knowshon Moreno, the 12th pick of the 2009 draft, may be a former Bronco before long," he wrote. "Moreno never has performed up to where he was chosen in the draft, and he has a cap number of $3.28 million in 2013. Moreno impressed coaches in 2012 by coming on strong late with two 100 yard rushing games in December and even was voted AFC offensive player of the week, but his tenure in Denver mostly is notable for injuries and fumbles. Some question if he always has worked as hard as he should have."
Moreno's resurgence from being inactive most of the season to a 100-yard performer was one of the bigger shocks of the fantasy football season. However, that underachiever element could play a bigger role in how the Broncos determine his future with the team than how well he played late in the season, when he racked up more than 500 rushing yards and 3 TDs in the final six games. However, that late-season burst should assure Moreno of landing somewhere next season. He would be worth keeping an eye on in fantasy leagues if he has a legit shot at regular work.
