Pondering the cold
By AJ Mass
Next year may be the last season for some time for the Minnesota Vikings to play their home games under the protection of a dome. The team is expected to move to TCF Bank Stadium for at least two seasons while a new stadium is built, beginning in 2014.
It's still quite a long way off, but just for fun we thought we'd take a look at the splits for Christian Ponder inside and out. Of course, all of the "outside" games are on the road, so that's got to factor into the equation as well, but there has been a drop-off when Ponder is exposed to fresh air.
Ponder's completion percentage, yards per attempt and touchdown percentage all are lower with no roof above him. That's just something to keep an eye on in the 2013 season, because if that trend continues, the Vikings may ultimately need to consider making a change under center once they find themselves displaced from their current home.
