The Bills and Alex Smith

One of the potential destinations listed speculatively for QB Alex Smith -- should the San Francisco 49ers, as expected, try to trade him -- is Buffalo. The Bills have a new coaching staff in place that isn't necessarily tied to current QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, and outgoing GM Buddy Nix hinted repeatedly that the team will be adding a QB this offseason.
Patrick Crawley of NFL.com provided an offseason overview for the Bills recently, noting that a QB stable featuring Fitzpatrick (and his bloated contract) along with Smith's $7.5 million salary wouldn't be economically wise; instead, drafting a QB (likely in the second round, or trading back into the bottom half of the first) makes more sense.
