Update on Hartline, Dolphins
By Tim Kavanagh
The Miami Dolphins have a list of free agents they'd like to bring back for 2013 and beyond, and the identity of some members of that list has become public, including S Chris Clemons and WR Brian Hartline.
However, as of this point, it doesn't appear that they're necessarily close to so doing.
"Of course, everybody -- Brian, the Dolphins -- everyone would like to get a deal done before free agency, and that the end of the day that is still a possibility," Hartline's agent Drew Rosenhaus confirmed on The Joe Rose Show on WQAM Thursday, via the Palm Beach Post. "But I can honestly say that this is the time of the year where this is the quiet before the storm in terms of negotiations. I believe that teams wait until much closer to the start of free agency before they negotiate in earnest."
Even after re-signing Hartline, the Dolphins are expected to bring in some outside help at WR this offseason, including in free agency -- where Greg Jennings and Mike Wallace seem to be atop their list -- and the draft, where some have projected them to take a wideout even as high as their first-rounder (No. 12 overall).
