Wilson a fit for Detroit?
By Tim Kavanagh
After the Buffalo Bills elected to release veteran S George Wilson this week, there was considerable discussion on where he'd land next, as it isn't every day that a 100-tackle player hits the market. The Tennessee Titans wasted no time, having him visit on Wednesday, though he left with no contract signed. The tour continued with the Detroit Lions on Thursday.
In the view of Wilson, things may just work out with Jim Schwartz's team. "I am very optimistic about my visit," Wilson beamed in a story on the club's official website, per the Detroit News. "We will see what happens as we move forward."
"They are looking for something and they see that I possess what they are looking for," Wilson added. "I definitely think I fit what they are looking for."
The Lions have two impending free agents on the roster -- Louis Delmas (UFA) and Amari Spievey (RFA) -- and are likely to tender Spievey. The fate of Delmas is unclear, but many believe he'll be one of the players left to troll the free agent waters.
