Steven Jackson's decision

By Tim Kavanagh

Due to a clause in his contract, St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson has until the start of the league year on March 12 to decide whether he'd like to void the duration of his deal. The prevailing consensus has been that he will do so, but that has not yet happened.

Another thing that has yet to happen is for the two sides to meet and try to work out a new deal, according to what sources have revealed to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. However, these talks could take place at the scouting combine in Indianapolis later this month.

If Jackson does elect to void his deal and nothing else is worked out with St. Louis, he can sign elsewhere once the market opens. He has previously been linked speculatively to several teams as a free agent, such as the Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers and San Diego Chargers.
