Harvin to Miami?

By Tim Kavanagh

The big story of this week has been the development that the Minnesota Vikings will consider trade offers for embattled, yet talented WR/returner Percy Harvin. That has set off an onslaught of speculation as to which teams make sense as a destination, and which teams are actually interested.

One of the clubs that is expected to go heavy in the free agent market at WR this offseason is the Miami Dolphins, so naturally, there has been a lot of chatter amongst Dolphins fans on social media over whether the team should target Harvin, who would also bolster the return game. Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald pondered the situation in a post this week, ultimately noting that the club would be systematic in its review of a possible trade, and only if the rumors of Harvin's availability are actually true.

From a purely on-field standpoint, Harvin would seem to be a significant upgrade, and the Dolphins do have an extra second-round pick in this year's draft thanks to the Vontae Davis trade last preseason. Nevertheless, ESPN AFC East blogger James Walker isn't sure this would be a great fit:

Harvin to the Dolphins?
"Nope. Harvin has already been a problem for two head coaches in Minnesota. He's not a Joe Philbin type of player."
