Yet another Rams DC candidate
By Tim Kavanagh
The St. Louis Rams are the final NFL team with a vacancy at the coordinator level, as they've failed to reach an agreement with any candidate thus far. It appeared at one point that Rob Ryan would be tapped, but things fell apart, and he wound up in New Orleans. This past week, Dick Jauron and Mike Singletary have been interviewed, but neither of them has reached an agreement either.
As of Monday, there's another candidate in the mix. According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Detroit Lions assistant Tim Walton has interviewed for the post. Walton served as DBs coach for Detroit from 2009 through 2011, and added "third-down package" to his list of responsibilities in 2012. It would appear that he's ready to take the next step up the coaching ladder, and going from Jeff Fisher protege Jim Schwartz to Fisher himself would seem to be a logical transition.
