Hartline coming back for Miami?
By Tim Kavanagh
As we've been looking ahead to 2013 for teams around the league, one of the near certainties is that the Miami Dolphins are going to be addressing their need at WR with individuals pulled from outside the organization. This could include veteran free agents -- Greg Jennings has been a popular speculative choice, based upon his link to HC Joe Philbin -- as well as draft picks, and some mock drafts have them taking a player at the position (Tennessee's Cordarrelle Patterson is a popular choice). But what about the team's leading wideout from 2012, the one who already has a professional relationship with Ryan Tannehill?
That man is Brian Hartline, whose career-highs in receptions (74) and yardage (1,083) were also the team-highs in Tannehill's initial campaign. According to the Miami Herald, Hartline and S Chris Clemons have both been identified as the key impending free agents that the team wants to re-sign.
With $35.8 million in projected cap space, the Dolphins have the ability to re-sign Hartline to a fair deal as well as make an addition from the ranks of the high-priced free agents. We'll see if they fulfill both stages of that plan in the coming weeks.a
