Barnett out, Scott in?
By Tim Kavanagh
News of the release of NFL veterans is occurring at a modest pace these days, and the Buffalo Bills got the week kicked off by letting two of their veterans know that their future services would not be required: S George Martin and LB Nick Barnett.
The news was confirmed by a number of media reports, including one from Tim Graham of the Buffalo News. Graham goes the extra step, however, and speculates on some potential replacements for the departed players by noting that former Jets DC Mike Pettine has taken on the same role in Buffalo. Connecting the dots, Graham wonders whether the Bills will fill the ILB hole with Bart Scott (who is expected to be released) and the S hole with LaRon Landry, who has had trouble staying on the field in previous seasons, but was healthy and productive in 2012.
