Could Ryan lure free agents to Saints?

By AJ Mass

Rob Ryan has joined Sean Payton's staff as the new defensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints and will be tasked with helping to transition the team to a 3-4 alignment, which is right up the former Dallas DC's alley.

When the Dallas Cowboys let Ryan go, there was quite a bit of dissent regarding that decision from his former players. Could that lead to a few of them trading in their stars for a fleur-de-lis? Linebackers Victor Butler, Brady Poppinga, Ernie Sims and Anthony Spencer are all unrestricted free agents, as are Michael Coe, Charlie Peprah and Eric Frampton.

The Saints are going to have to alter their personnel in order to move away from their old 4-3 defense, and it would not at all be surprising to see a few of those names end up choosing to follow Ryan to his new home in Louisiana.
