Collin Klein's NFL chances
By Vince Verhei
Does Kansas State Wildcats quarterback Collin Klein have a chance to play in the NFL? He's listed among ESPN's draft prospects -- as a tight end. Klein, though, has been working with a veteran NFL passer to refine his technique, hoping to take snaps for a professional team.
Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that Klein has been working with former Cardinals and Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer. "I've taken away a lot from Jake; it's hard to pick one," Klein said. "His approach to the game. He has a great perspective."
Klis acknowledges that Klein will be a bit of a project for an NFL team, and suggests he could begin his career as a depth player. "Klein could be viewed initially as a nice backup quarterback with San Francisco, Seattle, Mike Shanahan's Washington Redskins or Chip Kelly's Philadelphia Eagles," he writes. "Other NFL teams may adopt the read-option offense in 2013."
