New buzz on Boldin
By Tim Kavanagh
Prior to the Super Bowl being played this past weekend, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter posted a column in which he speculated on potential cap casualties for the Baltimore Ravens; one of the players Schefter suggested could be released was WR Anquan Boldin. In the time since, we've been pondering potential destinations for Boldin if he were to be cut, and the list includes the Indianapolis Colts, who have a lot of cap room and employ former Ravens assistant Chuck Pagano as their HC, and the New England Patriots, who are in the market for a player of Boldin's ilk.
As it turns out, if Boldin isn't back with Baltimore in 2013, he may not be playing anywhere.
"For me that's not something that I worry about," Boldin said during an appearance on "Pro Football Talk" that is set to air on Friday. "I think you go out and let your play speak for itself. You deal with that if you have to, but, I think for me -- I know for me -- Baltimore is the only place I want to play. It's the last place that I will play. For me, I'll retire a Raven, I'm not putting on any other uniform.
"I won't play in another uniform," he reiterated. "We have a saying: once a Raven, always a Raven, and I'll always be a Raven."
Soon we'll find out whether the Ravens feel the same sense of loyalty to him.
