What's next for Vanden Bosch?

By Tim Kavanagh

As of Monday, any NFL team can officially start releasing any players they don't have in the plans for 2013 -- for financial reasons or otherwise -- and the Detroit Lions have gotten off to a furious start. WR Titus Young was released Monday, and reports of the imminent departure of OG Stephen Peterman emerged Tuesday morning. As of Tuesday afternoon, Mike Garafolo of USA Today has reported that veteran DE Kyle Vanden Bosch will also be let go.

So where does KVB wind up next? The 34-year-old is certainly on the downslope of his career at this point, but he can still be a backfield menace, and had 16.5 sacks in his three-year tenure in Detroit; furthermore, Vanden Bosch has been heralded as a strong locker room presence. One potential connection is with his former HC in Tennessee, Jeff Fisher, who is now running the show in St. Louis. The Rams have a great pair of young DEs in Robert Quinn and Chris Long, but Vanden Bosch is a nice backup option, and likely won't cost too much either.
