Another DC target for the Rams
By Tim Kavanagh
After the proposed marriage between the St. Louis Rams and potential DC Rob Ryan fell apart last week, many focused on where Ryan would go next; some believe he'll be in the mix for the New Orleans Saints' vacancy while others have opined that he'll land on brother Rex's staff in New York in some fashion. But what about the team that got cold feet at the altar?
Back on Jan. 29, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch tweeted that the Rams were now expected to target Dick Jauron as their new DC. Jauron was most recently the DC in Cleveland, but was ushered out as part of the turnover this offseason.
On Monday night, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reported that the meeting between St. Louis and Jauron has already taken place. Whether this means the two sides will move forward aggressively to get Jauron in the mix remains to be seen, but as a success in other locales with experience in the Rams' style of defense, the fit for Jauron in St. Louis appears to be a logical one.
