Must III-TV?
By AJ Mass
ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter tweets that the league is trying to find out from the Washington Redskins when they expect Robert Griffin III to be back from his knee injury.
Since RG III is such a popular player, ratings are sure to be high with him in the national spotlight, but if the Redskins were to be playing without Griffin under center, the curiosity factor would certainly not be as high. The "only near certainty," according to Schefter, is that the quarterback will be opening training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. After that, there's no real timetable for his return.
That said, it makes sense for the league to keep the Redskins off the calendar for the first few weeks of the season and schedule a few December nights in the nation's capital, by which time Griffin should be back, even if the team's record suffers from any time he might have missed.
