Urlacher waits for a call
By AJ Mass
Brian Urlacher considers Chicago to be his home and he has gone on record as saying that he is hopeful that the team will allow him to return next year, his 14th year in the NFL.
However, the free agent-to-be has yet to hear from the Chicago Bears. And while the Chicago Sun-Times quoted new head coach Marc Trestman as saying "(Urlacher) exemplifies what being a Chicago Bear is all about, and we all know that," he seemed to hem and haw about whether or not Urlacher would be back.
It seems that Urlacher might have packed up his bags and followed Lovie Smith, had the outgoing head coach latched on with another team, but given that Smith is sitting 2013 out, one would expect that something will be worked out between the two sides that would keep the face of the Chicago Bears at home for at least one more season.
