Bush to Detroit?
By Tim Kavanagh
Earlier this week, a report indicated that it was unlikely that Reggie Bush was going to be back with the Miami Dolphins for 2013, and we had a look at where he could land instead. A team signing Bush will have to be able to afford his salary within their current cap situation, and some believe that he'd be more inclined to sign with a contender; moreover, after Bush grew up in Southern California and played collegiately at USC, he's played all his home games in warm weather cities (New Orleans and Miami) and climate could also be a factor.
One of the teams mentioned as a potential suitor of Bush is Detroit, and Mike Slagter of MLive.com isn't ruling it out, writing that the Lions may be looking to add some firepower to their RB corps, with Jahvid Best's NFL future still up in the air. Bush would be able to offer something different than current RBs Mikel Leshoure and Joique Bell, and could also contribute in the receiving and return game if the Lions so desired.
After qualifying for the playoffs in 2011, the Lions took a big step backwards in 2012. Adding a player like Bush -- and another impact contributor with the No. 5 overall pick -- could bring them back to the postseason.
