For the teams that made upgrades to their offensive tackle position this offseason -- either through the draft or free agency -- dealings with the incumbent players at those positions have been mixed. The Kansas City Chiefs released RT Eric Winston, inserted No. 1 pick Eric Fisher in his place and kept Branden Albert at LT. The Jacksonville Jaguars followed suit, putting No. 2 pick Luke Joeckel at RT with Eugene Monroe maintaining his position at LT. As for the St. Louis Rams, they elected to put FA signing Jake Long in at LT, taking Rodger Saffold's spot, while they intended to push Saffold across to RT. Some thought that Saffold would protest the move, but thus far, he has been somewhat receptive to the move.
