Flynn stuck in Seattle?

January, 23, 2013
Matt Flynn was supposed to be the starting quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks. At least that was the plan when they signed him to a deal that will pay him $5.25 million in 2013. That was before Russell Wilson burst on the scene and led the Seahawks to the playoffs, though, and that price tag - a bargain for a starter - is a little high for a No. 2 quarterback.

So, it's no surprise to hear Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports tweet that the team has told Flynn they are more than willing to trade him somewhere that could give him a chance to start. Unfortunately, a deal seems unlikely to come to fruition, because most potential trade partners understand all too well the financial pickle that Seattle is in here. Why make a deal for Flynn when you can simply wait until the Seahawks are forced to cut him in order to free up some cap space?

Flynn appears to be caught in a game of chicken here, and as the potential landing spots start to dwindle, it may not be long before there is no place for him to go after all.
