Filling Vikings' hole at MLB

After losing Jasper Brinkley to the Arizona Cardinals as a free agent this offseason the Minnesota Vikings had an obvious need for a middle linebacker. When they traded back into the first round Thursday to make a third first-round selection, many assumed they would use that 29th overall pick to take a linebacker like Manti Te'o. Instead, they went for Cordarrelle Patterson to bolster their WR corps.
