UPDATE: The Cowboys took one more step toward getting under the salary cap Thursday by restructuring the contract of tight end Jason Witten. The reworked deal will shave about $3.65 million off of their cap, according to ESPNDallas.com's Todd Archer
The Dallas Cowboys and DeMarcus Ware agreed to restructure his contract Wednesday. The reworked deal will help the Cowboys save $4 million against their salary cap, but they still have a lot of work to do in order to get under the cap. Per ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the team plans to restructure about a dozen contracts over the next couple of weeks. That should include nose tackle Jay Ratliff, cornerback Orlando Scandrick and linebacker Dan Connor, who could be let loose if he doesn't rework his current deal.
