Last offseason, the New England Patriots signed WR Danny Amendola to a five-year, $28.5 million contract with the idea that he would replace Wes Welker as QB Tom Brady's go-to slot receiver. Instead, as has typically been the case for Amendola during his NFL career, he was injured often, and Julian Edelman turned into Brady's top WR option.
