Why the Panthers likely won't cut J-Stew

Even without the benefit of hindsight, it was a puzzling move when the Carolina Panthers gave Jonathan Stewart a five-year, $36.5 million contract extension in 2012 after giving DeAngelo Williams a big contract just a season prior. Stewart missed much of the 2013 campaign due to injury -- he played in just six games -- and did little during the games he actually did play, so it's fair to wonder whether the Panthers will release him this offseason.
