The Carolina Panthers already had a well-stocked backfield with the likes of DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart and Mike Tolbert, but that didn't stop them from going out and drafting Oregon's Kenjon Barner in the sixth round. His preseason numbers didn't exactly jump off the page -- 16 rushes for 45 yards and 1 TD, 4 catches for 26 yards -- but he reportedly showed promise in practices. Unfortunately, Barner was felled by an ankle injury in the preseason finale and was inactive for the regular-season opener. It sounds like he won't be in the mix this week, either.
