The New York Giants re-signed veteran Brandon Jacobs this week, seemingly in large part because of his comfort within the offense and his ability to mentor David Wilson, who had a rough Week 1 outing. More specifically, a source told ESPN.com's Dan Graziano that the Giants will rely on Jacobs' familiarity with pass-blocking schemes and that the veteran will be able to guide Wilson in that area. He'll likely also provide mentorship in other aspects of the offense and will suit up in the Giants' Week 2 game against the Denver Broncos.
