As long had been expected, the Cleveland Browns signed free-agent running back Ben Tate over the weekend. Tate was the consensus top running back on the free-agent market this offseason, but in recent years the value of running backs has diminished, so he was never going to get a big payday. Beyond that, his well-documented injury history not only limited his payout further, but likely means the Browns will end up using a draft pick to add depth to their RB corps.
