Before Bill O'Brien replaced Joe Paterno at Penn State, he spent five seasons with the New England Patriots. He was Tom Brady's quarterbacks coach for his final three years with the team and directed the Pats' No. 2-ranked offense as their offensive coordinator in 2011 before departing for PSU. We've known all along that he had aspirations to return to the NFL as a head coach, so it's no surprise that he has reworked his contract to make it easier to depart the college ranks.
