There is no bigger game this weekend than when the No. 7 Miami Hurricanes travel to No. 3 Florida State for a battle with heavy ACC and national championship implications on the line. I was able to dig deep into the coaches' copy tape to look at each team’s personnel, trends and tendencies.
Below is a breakdown on how each unit matches up on Saturday night.
Miami offense versus Florida State defense
The Hurricanes will present, by far, the most effective rushing attack Florida State has seen all season. They are big across the board and have done a nice job of rooting defenders off the ball and opening up creases. In addition, they have developed an excellent one-two punch behind a pair of talented running backs in Duke Johnson and Dallas Crawford. Both have quick feet, above-average elusiveness and run much harder than their size indicates.
