Trio of West QBs headed to Oklahoma St.
By Erik McKinney
When Oklahoma State puts on its spring game this weekend, there will be plenty of recruits on hand. But an interesting development could take place at the quarterback position, as three of the West's top signal-callers will be on unofficial visits to Stillwater.
The Cowboys have gone after Kyle Allen (Scottsdale, Ariz./Desert Mountain), the nation's No. 128 player and No. 2 quarterback in the West. Allen has held an Oklahoma State offer for some time and has long categorized the Cowboys as a potential destination. After a trip to Texas A&M last weekend, Allen will have a chance to compare the two schools back-to-back, which should help him as he slowly sorts through the recruiting process.
But Oklahoma State is very much in need of a quarterback, or two, in this class after not signing one in the 2013 class, so Allen won't be the only one on hand.
Brad Kaaya (West Hills, Calif./Chaminade) and Brandon Dawkins (Westlake Village, Calif./Oaks Christian) will also take in the spring game this weekend.
Dawkins received early offers from Notre Dame and Utah before NC State entered the mix this spring. He is a big-time athlete at the position and is hearing from several SEC schools as well, including Alabama and Tennessee.
Kaaya's recruitment as picked up in a big way this spring, as the quarterback split time last fall. Miami and San Diego State have offered Kaaya thus far, with several Pac-12 programs showing interest.
This won't be the first unofficial visit for either quarterback this spring, as Dawkins tripped to Georgia while in the area for a Nike camp, while Kaaya visited Miami several weeks ago.
