Three-star OL Lacy makes his choice clear
By Erik McKinney
Offensive lineman Kenny Lacy (Phoenix, Ariz./Mountain Pointe) committed to UCLA in early September, but the 6-foot-5, 260-pound tackle is one of the more sought-after big men in the West, as he earned offers from Kansas State, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Wisconsin and others.
With so many big time programs chasing him, he often mentioned his desire to take all five of his official visits, which called into question how firmly he was committed to UCLA. This past weekend, Lacy took one of those visits--to hometown Arizona State -- but he did his best to make sure none of those questions were presented again.
Responding to a text message that asked if the visit to Arizona State did anything to cut into the strength of his UCLA commitment, Lacy took his time in choosing a thoughtful and colorful reply. It was a photo from the internet of a banner that read, in bright gold and blue, "UCLA Football."
Questions could continue to follow Lacy until signing day, because schools will continue to push for his commitment, but he has done everything he can at this point to confirm his status as a solid UCLA commitment. It's an important one for the Bruins, who stand to load up in a big way along the offensive line in this class. Lacy is one of seven offensive linemen committed to UCLA, as the Bruins have put together a tremendous collection of talented big men.
