LB Evan Colorito still taking his time

12/31/2012

AUBURN, Wash. -- Even though he has to make a final decision in a little more than a month, Evan Colorito (Beaverton, Ore./Beaverton) is taking his time.

“I’m not really close to making a decision,” the 6-foot-3, 210-pound linebacker said. “I think I might even wait till signing day.”

Colorito took a break from the recruiting process to play in the Tanoa Bowl last week but will start focusing on his future in January with official visits planned to Nevada and Colorado State.

In addition to scholarship offers from the Wolf Pack and the Rams, the senior has also been invited to join the programs at Colorado, Portland State, Eastern Washington and Montana.

“I’m glad that I have six options,” said Colorito, who had 93 tackles and 11 1/2 sacks as a senior. “Hopefully more can jump in before signing day.”

When asked what he is looking for in a school, he said, “They have to have good academics. I want to be able to graduate with a degree that’s worth talking about. I want the school and the team to really be like my high school, because I really feel comfortable there.”

Right now, he doesn’t have a favorite school.

“The most you can really ask for is a school that really wants you to play for their team,” he said.
