A whirlwind weekend for Dalton Hunkle (San Jacinto, Calif./Mount San Jacinto Community College) continued Monday when Troy University offered the 6-foot-2, 210-pound wide receiver.
The FCS school fell in line with Sacramento State, North Colorado and California in terms of offers.
Speaking of Cal, Hunkle’s official visit to the Golden Bears was postponed for a later date, so the junior college standout took an official visit to Sacramento State over the weekend.
“I really liked Sacramento State,” Hunkle said. “I liked the coaches and the players. I definitely felt comfortable up there. The facilities were nice. I’m still not sure when I’ll get out to Cal.”
As for Troy, the Trojans offer was intriguing to the wideout, who is still collecting data on the school.
“I’m looking into it,” Hunkle said. “They sent me a power point. They gave me a full-ride offer and I know they have the eighth-ranked passing offense in the country, so that’s definitely big for me. I’m excited about that. They want to get me on a visit Jan. 5.”
The official visit to Troy isn’t set in stone yet, but it’s there should Hunkle want to grab it.
This week, he’ll evaluate and take everything into consideration and will likely wait until after the mid-term signing period to give a commitment to a school.
Hunkle finished this season with 75 receptions for 1,150 yards and scored 10 touchdowns.
