Another Southern California quarterback as found a home at the next level, as Nate Romine (Upland, Calif./Upland) made a verbal commitment to Air Force.
Though Romine held only one offer, other programs continued to recruit the 5-foot-11, 167-pound quarterback. But Romine said the decision turned out to be an easy one.
"It was almost an offer I couldn't refuse," Romine said. "The opporunity to serve my country, play Division I football in a competitive conference and challenge myself in the classroom just as much outside of it."
Romine is commitment No. 20 for Air Force and only the second recruit in the 2013 class from California. He joins two-star dual-threat quarterback Dominique Allen (Richmond Hill, Ga./Richmond Hill) as quarterbacks in the Falcons' class.
"It just feels right and I'm excited to be a Falcon," Romine said.
As a senior, Romine led Upland to a 12-1 record as he threw for 2,728 yards and 22 touchdowns and rushed for 1,039 yards and 13 scores.
