Even with the firing of Colorado coach Jon Embree, three-star offensive tackle Sam Kronshage (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands) said he’s a solid commitment to the Buffaloes and is looking forward to playing in the Pac-12 next season.
Kronshage, a 6-foot-6, 290-pound tackle, verbally committed to Colorado on June 11 with teammate Jonathan Huckins, a three-star offensive guard. Kronshage was recruited by defensive ends/outside linebackers coach Kanavis McGhee and has built a solid relationship with McGhee and offensive line coach Steve Marshall.
“I really wanted to play for Coach Embree,” Kronshage said. “It kind of sucks he won’t be there, but I’m still looking forward to meeting whoever the new coach will be. I am still fully committed to Colorado.”
Kronshage said he doesn’t have plans of taking any outside visits. Kronshage, however, did say his commitment could be swayed if McGhee and Marshall are not with the program next season.
“That’d be huge for me,” he said. “I have a good relationship with both coaches. Them being around now, that’s big.”
Kronshage is ranked No. 101 nationally among offensive tackles.
