UCLA athlete commitment Mossi Johnson (Los Angeles/Crenshaw) spent two days on the Utah campus for his official visit this weekend, but the recruiting pitch lasted much longer than that. The family decided to drive out to Utah so that Johnson's father could accompany him on the visit, which allowed an additional passenger in teammate and Utah commitment Dominique Hatfield.
While the extra 10 hours -- each way -- of recruiting time gave Hatfield plenty of opportunity to pitch his good friend, Johnson ultimately concluded what he felt before the trip, that UCLA is the right place for him.
"It was fun," Johnson said of the visit. "It's way different from L.A. It's a college town. A lot of people there talk only about the college. There aren't multiple teams like out here."
