A solid start to the season led to another scholarship offer for quarterback Kelly Hilinski (Sherman Oaks, Calif./Notre Dame), as the Colorado Buffaloes reached out to the 6-foot-7, 205-pound quarterback on Saturday afternoon.
"It means a lot to me," Hilinski said of the offer. "They've been talking to me since I was a sophomore and they've stayed with me through the process."
It's tough to put a positive spin on Colorado's start to the season -- three losses punctuated by a 69-14 defeat against Fresno State this past Saturday -- but that doesn't affect Hilinski's view of the Buffaloes. In fact, he is quite comfortable with it. Hilinski said his recruiting contact at Colorado, assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach Rip Scherer, told him that their scholarship situation for the 2013 class changed recently, which opened a spot for an additional quarterback.
