The ironic journey that the 2013 quarterbacks have taken in the West region will take another step forward Friday, when Troy Williams (Harbor City, Calif./Narbonne) announces his commitment. No matter the choice, Williams is headed out of state, as Washington and Arizona stand as his two finalists.
Williams led Narbonne to a CIF title last season, as he threw for 3,247 yards and 34 touchdowns. The four-star, dual-threat quarterback also rushed for 587 yards and 11 touchdowns.
The fact that Williams won't play his college football in his home state is certainly keeping to the theme being carried out by the West region quarterbacks. Thus far, Jared Goff (Kentfield, Calif./Marin Catholic) is one of the only quarterbacks with West Coast or Pac-12 ties that will remain in state at the next level, as he has committed to California.
