Passing Down: RN Top 10

4/29/2013

Sunday's Passing Down Best of the West tournament at Fullerton College promised some of the top talent in California and the 12-team event more than delivered. Players from across the state made their presence felt during the event, and while tournament champions Body By Tra landed two players on the RecruitingNation Top 10, several standouts from the TMP Elite Stars turned heads throughout the day.

10. Maurice McKnight

San Bernardino (Calif.) Arroyo Valley | CB | 6-0, 167

McKnight was a standout cornerback for Ground Zero throughout the day and was at his best during the biggest moments as he did a tremendous job against a great wide receiver group from the TMP Elite Stars. San Diego State has been in touch with McKnight and visited Arroyo Valley this past week.

"Schools are looking at him as a safety, but I've been showcasing him at cornerback because I want to show people that he has the footwork and hips in transition to play at corner and is versatile enough to go play safety as well," Ground Zero coach Anthony Brown said. "He's also a quarterback for his high school, so he's one of those special athletes."
