On Sunday evening, the inaugural Unsung Heroes Awards recognized several outstanding Southern California student-athletes.
Honorees were chosen for their combination of success in the classroom, in the community and on the football field. Grade point average, community service, letters of recommendation and personal statements all factored into the process of selecting the nominees. They were celebrated by the Inner City Youth Foundation at Sunday night's event, An Evening of Champions.
