Star DT Kenneth Clark under the radar

12/21/2012

VISALIA, Calif. -- One of the least talked about stars in this recruiting cycle has been DT Kenneth Clark (Rialto, Calif./Carter). The 6-foot-3, 280-pound run-stuffer dominated his competition all season, and he's doing it again in an all-star setting.

"I'm just trying to do my thing. I'm not too worried about anything else," Clark said. "I'm just here to compete and have some fun."

Clark was having plenty of fun during practice for the annual Cal-State Game, which pits the top high school seniors from Northern California against their counterparts from Southern California. Clark dominated Thursday's practice in preparation for Saturday's game at the College of the Sequoias. Fellow UCLA commit Alex Redmond (Los Alamitos, Calif./Los Alamitos) said he is glad that they'll be wearing the same colors next year.

"He's a beast," Redmond said. "He is as good as anyone I've gone against. I'm glad he's gonna be a Bruin."

On the recruiting front, Clark seems to be as solid to UCLA as a recruit can possibly be. the only thing on Clark's mind is finding some new teammates to join him in Westwood.

"Cal is still on me, but I'm not even worried about all that," said Clark, who was called the toughest defensive lineman to handle by several offensive linemen. "I'm all UCLA. That's where I committed, and that's where I'm headed."
