Ross, Bobo will wait and see with Colorado

11/25/2012

Cornerback Devin Ross (Mission Hills, Calif./Alemany) is the No. 2 recruit in Colorado's class, and the three-star athlete has plenty of options, with a dozen scholarship offers. Ross said Colorado's poor season on the field has had him thinking about other schools for some time, and head coach Jon Embree's firing pushed him in the direction of decommitting, but there won't be a decision yet from Ross.

"I'm just going to wait and see who their coach is," Ross said of Colorado. "I think I can still end up there; I just have to see who the coach is and what other recruits they get. I still have to visit there too."

Ross is good friends with fellow Colorado commit, wide receiver Elijah Dunston (West Hills, Calif./Chaminade), and he said the two would like to set up an official visit together later in the year.

Oregon State and Utah have been in contact with Ross. The Utes have offered and would like to bring Ross in on an official visit after the season. Oregon State hasn't yet spoken to him about a visit. Ross said he will be sending out a highlight tape soon and wants to see what that does for his recruitment.

"If I get any other schools showing interest, we'll see if anything happens," he said.

Ross would have the ability to play cornerback or wide receiver for Colorado, but one recruit slated for offense is receiver Bryce Bobo (Covina, Calif./Charter Oak). Bobo already was keeping his recruiting options open, and Embree's firing could add to that thought.

Bobo is scheduled to take an official visit to Colorado on Dec. 7. But he also was supposed to receive an in-home visit from Embree on Wednesday, Nov. 28. In the early aftermath of the head coach's firing, Bobo wasn't sure what his visit schedule -- in-home and official -- will look like now, though he wasn't looking to make a quick decision on anything.
