California head coach Jeff Tedford's dismissal on Tuesday morning didn't come as a huge shock to Golden Bears football fans or much of the college football world. But it creates plenty to think about for the 13 verbal commitments in California's 2013 recruiting class.
As can be expected following a decision that seemed to be building for several weeks, there weren't many immediate decisions made by the recruits reached for comment.
Quarterback commit Jared Goff tweeted: "Just heard the news. It's unfortunate to say the least. Love Coach Tedford as man and coach but looking forward to see what the future holds."
