Offensive lineman Freddie Tagaloa (Richmond, Calif./Salesian) will take his first official visit this week to check out two of his favorite schools battle in a rare Pac-12 Thursday night game.
“I’m going up to Oregon Wednesday,” Tagaloa said. “I’ve been to the state of Oregon before but never to the actual university so I’m excited. They’re playing Cal Thursday night and we have a bye this weekend so the timing was perfect. These are two of my top four schools so it’s a great opportunity to watch them both in action.”
In addition to the Ducks and Bears, Tagaloa is also looking at USC and Stanford and would like to take visit all four of his favorites before making a decision.
“Those are my main four schools and I’ve only been to Cal and Stanford so far,” Tagaloa said. “I want to officially visit all four and then I’ll make my decision. I camped with Cal last summer and have gone to Stanford junior days the last three years so I know those two schools really well.
“I’m looking forward to seeing Oregon up close and I want to get up to USC as well. I don’t have a leader right now. I know some people think I do but I’m open to all four schools and I won’t decide anything until after my visits.”
Adams close on more visits
Ishmael Adams (Westlake Village, Calif./Oaks Christian) has one visit locked in for later this month and is close to setting a few more.
Adams will be one of several players visiting Notre Dame on Oct. 21. The Irish are hosting USC that weekend and it’s setting up to be one of the biggest recruiting weekends, for any school, this year.
“Notre Dame has great tradition and a lot of history,” Adams said. “They’re playing USC in what is a great rivalry so the atmosphere should be really exciting. I’m looking to see how comfortable I’ll be there and I’m anticipating having a great trip.”
The other schools on Adams’ short list remain Cal, Oregon, UCLA, Colorado and Arizona State.
“I don’t have any other official visit dates set yet,” Adams said. “I’m going to try and visit Cal and Oregon after the season and Colorado during the season. I can just do an unofficial visit to UCLA and I’m not sure when I’ll visit ASU.
“I took an unofficial there when they played USC two weeks ago and really liked it a lot. My plan is to take all my visits and then announce my decision at the Army All-American game. Cal is still my leader right now but I’m definitely open to these other schools.”
