Kyle Murphy (San Clemente, Calif./San Clemente) took his second official visit of the year last weekend to check out Florida. Murphy’s first visit was to Oregon.
“I really liked it there,” Murphy said. “I think a lot of people probably assume it’s too far or that I’m locked in to staying in the West but after visiting there, I’m definitely going to keep them in the picture. They have a great football program with a great coaching staff and a very passionate fan base. I enjoyed myself at the game and enjoyed hanging out with the players as well.
“Academically, Florida is underrated and has a strong program that a lot of people don’t know about. I come from an academic family, my brother goes to Harvard, so that’s a big deal for me. My whole family came up with me and they liked it too. We were all treated very well and honestly, there wasn’t anything I didn’t like about the trip.”
