The UCLA Bruins landed commitment No. 18 on Monday morning, as wide receiver Ammon Barker (Sandy, Utah/Alta) didn't waste much time thinking over a recent offer from Jim Mora's staff.
The Bruins had been in touch with Barker since last summer, but things began to heat up in a big way after a UCLA coach watched Barker torch Salt Lake City (Utah) Cottonwood for 173 yards and two touchdowns on five receptions in mid-October. Alta coach Bob Stephens said he spoke with the UCLA coaching staff after the game and told them about Barker's desire to attend UCLA. Last week, the Bruins extended an offer to the 6-foot-4, 210-pound wideout and, after talking it over with his family, Barker made his commitment.
Barker finished his senior season with 60 receptions for 1,183 yards and 13 touchdowns for a 9-3 Hawks team.
